Harmony Arts: Home is where the Art is

The coming of Harmony Arts to Baroda in 1994 signalled a minor revolution in the way artists, connoisseurs and collectors in the city could now get their priceless artworks properly and appropriately framed. Started by two brothers, Rajni and Bharat Mehta, Harmony Arts have brought the latest technology (from Denmark and Italy) in aesthetic wooden and polyurethane frame-making using world-class art framing materials such as precisely cross-cut mount boards and wonderful mouldings (from UK and Italy) that complement the artwork to be framed. Their collection includes a comprehensive and exclusive range of traditional, museum-look, and modern decorative frames in different sizes and shapes, with a selection of more than 300 profiles and 80 colour shades of mount boards. Specially created frames with treated wood as well as exquisitely carved wooden Jharokha frames are the Harmony speciality.

Harmony Arts also stocks a vibrant collection of very beautifully published prints of paintings as well as original prints (serigraphs, etchings, linocuts, lithographs, photographs, digital art) by internationally renowned foreign and Indian artists, sourced from museums, art galleries and art publishers all over the world. The range of themes includes landscapes, seascapes, panoramic views of old cities, still-life, human interest, abstract, florals, religious and so on. They also have original works by artists from the Faculty of Fine Arts, the very well known art school of Baroda. You can select from the original works of traditional (rural/folk/tribal) artists as well, including Tanjore paintings, Madhubani, Warli, Nathadwara, Kangra, Rajasthani, Egyptian Papyrus paintings, etc. Their Indian speciality includes paintings of Ganesha, AshtaLaxmi, Krishna, Shiva, Shrinathji (a very exhaustive collection), Saraswati, Jain Tirthankaras, Jesus Christ, Dasavatars, Buddha and so on. They also have prints of works by Indian artists such as Raja Ravi Varma, Jamini Roy, Rabindranath Tagore, and contemporaries such as M.F. Husain, Jyoti Bhatt, Bikash Bhattacharya, etc. The prints are available for sale with or without the frames too.

For those with interest in interior design, Harmony Arts offers a variety of thematic works that are specifically suitable for children’s rooms, kitchens, offices, restaurants, room interiors in hotels, clinic waiting rooms, schools, etc. Smaller, compact frames with pleasant pictures are available for bulk purchase as corporate gifts. Harmony is perhaps the only place in the city that offers multi-window frames for family photographs to be put together in a single frame.

For NRIs, special light-weight, foldable frames are designed that can be conveniently carried and easily re-assembled. Even the more decorative frames can be unscrewed and transported in regular suitcases. These frames are available at a fraction of their cost in any other country.

Harmony Arts have a large, well-lit, air-conditioned showroom and also an art gallery (on the first first floor) in Baroda, as well as a showroom in Ahmedabad.

Harmony Arts welcomes inquiries from art galleries and artists all over India and abroad for their framing requirements.
