Chandan Orthodontic Clinic offers:
Diagnosis, Prevention & Treatment of mal-aligned or irregular teeth, protruding teeth, buck teeth, crowded teeth, overlapping teeth, or teeth with gaps between them. Technically these problems are referred to as Maloccusion. They are corrected by the design, application and control of corrective appliances commonly called braces. We thus 'move' teeth to new positions, achieving a better tooth-to-tooth relationship (called 'bite') and consequently a healthier mouth. A person's self-esteem improves as orthodontic treatment brings teeth, lips and face into harmony.

The main techniques practised are Pre-adjusted edgewise functional appliances, growth modulations and modifications, heads gear, pre-surgical and post-surgical orthodontics to correct cranio-facial deformities and skeletal maloccusions in adults, orthodontic and orthopedic corrections of cleft lip and palate patients.

OPG Centre offers:
Orthopantomography (OPG) is an advanced radiographic process and a diagnostic tool that produces a single image of facial structures including the upper and lower dentition, jaws and their supporting structures and bones. It is critical in the correct diagnosis and subsequent treatment of dental, ENT, and facial problems. OPG is done quickly, with less radiation, broad scope of examination, and optimum patient comfort.

Orthodontic treatment is accomplished by favourably influencing facial growth and by the movement of living teeth in living tissue to bring irregular or improperly placed teeth into their proper position. We develop a plan of treatment for each individual patient. Appliances used to re-position the teeth will thus vary, to include braces directly fixed on the teeth, appliances worn around the neck or head, removable appliances or a combination of these. In a few cases, a combination of orthodontics and surgery is required. In certain cases teeth may have to be removed to provide space for correction. After the appliances are removed, it is necessary to wear retainer or a prescribed device for a varying period to keep the teeth in their new position.

Dr. Amish Mehta completed his graduation and post-graduation studies from Government Dental College & Hospital, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. He has been practising Exclusive Orthodontics since 1993. He is Life Member, Indian Orthodontic Society; Member, Indian Dental Association; Fellow, Pierre Fauchard Academy, USA. Presently he is President, Indian Dental Association (IDA), Baroda branch, Hon. Secretary, IDA, Gujarat State, Hon. Secretary, Continuing Dental Education Wing, IDA, head office. He is an active participant in Dental Seminars and Conferences, often chairing the Scientific Sessions and being specially invited to speak on latest issues concerning orthodontics. He is also a regular contributor to Denti-Media, the Journal of the IDA.

As an orthodontist whose work covers a lot of children-patients, he has been the Chief Co-ordinator, Baroda Zone, National Oral Programme of IDA and Colgate-Palmolive from 1998-2001 and has received the IDA Gujarat Award for the highest number of school-children dental check-ups over 5 continuous years. He has also conducted check-ups for street-children in Baroda in collaboration with social organisations.
